Next was our unforgettable and utterly redemptive ski trip to Steamboat Springs - we had such a blast! As a reminder, this was our second attempt at a previously failed mini-moon ski trip we took in 2020, just 8 days after our nuptials.

After our remarkable wander through the depths of the Carlsbad Caverns, our next key destination to drive to was Mesa Verde in Cortez, New Mexico. This was a slight departure from our original plans to go to El Paso, TX to visit Kameron and Judge, who we met in St. Lucia a few months back.

We left Austin, Texas to start our 7.5 hour drive to Carlsbad, New Mexico - the town adjacent to the Carlsbad Caverns. The drive was easy and the weather continued to be gracious to us with no sign of rain on our trip yet.

As Tom and I hit the road bound for Houston, Texas, I thought about our brief but charming visit to New Orleans. It really was incredibly quaint and lovely to walk about the streets with no crowds and few cars. But the truth was it was a ghost town and we experienced more of a hollow shell of a city that most other days demands your attention.

We arrived to New Orleans, Louisiana - Place # 1 - yesterday afternoon around 3p after gaining an hour on the first official day of our road trip! With no traffic along the way, beautiful weather with clear skies and everything packed in our new hybrid Honda CRV, we hit the road for Nawlins’.
